Me, the Sports Fan
OK so I haven't posted anything at all in three months... oops.
So I've started doing stats/timekeeping for a hockey league. "Gentleman's league" (can musicians be gentlemen?) Anyway it's been really fun thus far. A bit of a goof as far as quality of the game goes but I hadn't realized how much I missed having sports in my life.
Before moving to Edmonton I had played, coached, done stats and officiated for multiple sports (mostly basketball) every year of my life since I was three. Since moving to Edmonton there's been none of that until last year when I finally became the proud owner of 1/6th of Oilers season tickets and then this year I started the timekeeping thing.
It all adds an element I hadn't realized was missing.
Alot of people seem to think this is "new" and to be honest I've had some folks even make fun of it but my whole life I had sports in my life and in my head. Until six years ago when they were displaced by music and artists and theatre and actors... and I didn't know any athletes anymore. And now I'm finding my way back...
It feels good to be back on the "bandwagon" even if I don't remember really leaving it.
