On the East Coast, "hodge podge" is a much anticipated traditional summer soup made with all the first vegetables of the season...in the dictionary it means a mixture or medley. This is my hodge podge of thoughts, musings and inklings: Set at the seaside because I do all my best musing where I can hear the waves.
The EP dilemna
These are all your words. They don't belong to me. But even so I can see myself in them, recognize a bit of myself in places. Mostly I see you and hear your voice as if you are speaking to me now as you spoke to me then - late at night in front of the flickering television as we pretended to watch a movie among twisted sheets and glasses of wine. I remember the skylight above my head, the guitar in the corner... or leaned against the bed, left there after you seduced me with a song. I remember your chivalrous gallantry and your almost arrogance and the way you found places I had tried to hide away.
....because how often do you get to send a perfumed letter without chance of ridicule?
I think I have finally discovered the proper motivation for keeping my apartment clean.
