a pause...possibly?

My blog has been both neglected and depressing lately...unless I talked about hockey. But then hockey became depressing so that didn't work out so well.

I may leave this thing alone for awhile. Take a break. Put it on pause.

Or I may take my cue from "The Secret" and use it to record my gratitudes (I have no idea if that is actually in the Secret).

solitude and the smell of turkey

As I went back and forth to the laundry room today, all day long I could smell my neighbors Easter feast and I came to one realization...

I hate being here, alone, on holidays. There are very few times during the course of the year when I truly think about what it would be like to live close to my family again but smelling that turkey dinner cooking after a weekend where I basically saw no one at all was definitely one of those moments.

I'm a sentimental sort and maybe someday I'll get used to not seeing them all on such an occasion but I am definitely not used to it yet... and maybe this one was harder than most.
