It sucks.

I am reluctant to use the word "sucks" about art. Any kind of art... be it music, visual art, or whatever. Because so much of art is subjective. So unless I know for a fact that something is actually bad - like out of tune, off tempo or sloppy, or unoriginal to the extreme... I can't use that word when I talk about art. And I think it's a bit of a cop out when anyone uses it really. It's just a way to say "I don't like it" which is, in actuality, an entirely different statement.

Note: Unless the band is from Hanna. Then all bets are off.

(petty) response I WISH I could give...

OK, I could do without the eyerolling. And things were going so well. Trust me, you have stuff that you bring up in conversation that I don't care about, I still listen, even when you come to me at inopportune moments.

And I wasn't talking to you anyway.

(She doesn't read this though. In fact, I think the fact that I have it would make her do that eye roll thing that I love so much.)

And on an only-slightly-related note. I hate when people think I don't know anything about sports. Or power tools.

Things you may not know

I’m afraid of bees and monkeys…terrified…not apes or lower primates, just monkeys.
I love pirates...and boats…especially pirate ships.
I have two identifying marks: a birthmark on my right index finger that my grandmother tried for 3 hours to scrub off when my parents brought me home from the hospital, and a tattoo on the inside of my right ankle – killer whale, from my environmentalist days. Someday I will have another tatoo.
I started going to basketball games when I was 3 years old, camps soon after and played competitively until grade 10 when I blew out my knee. I then coached and/or managed various teams for the following 15 years.
For years I had an irrational phobia of large yellow vehicles. I am still working it out.
I was once somewhat of an expert on the aquatic worms: Polydora cornuta and Boccardia proboscidia.
