So I guess if you suggest/ask several times if someone wouldn't prefer a mug to a styrofoam cup and they keep insisting on the styrofoam cup and that person happens to be a board memeber who you can't really be more forceful with...

I guess I tried. Tried to do my bit for both my concession budget and the environment. Tried.

sigh. It's amazing what odd little things can take the wind out of someone's sails.

comfortable silence... awkward silence.

The jury is out on this one. The pendulum swings back and forth. I try to be at ease with it but there was a time when silence was the last thing that passed between us.

indulge me

I wonder sometimes why people put up with me. Here I come with my flurry of mind-changing and my ridiculous level of urgency. And yet there you all are, allowing me to go and go until I run out of steam or come to my senses or, maybe best of all, until I just figure it out and get it done.

Thank you for your patience and understanding and indulgence. I don't thank any of you enough.

for that push in the right direction

I reconnected with a friend of mine today that I haven't seen in a few years. (years?!) It's odd because we have gone through very long periods of time not seeing each other, or even speaking, and somehow she still feels like a close friend. It's funny how certain people, especially those who enter your life at pivotal times, tend to stick.

This particular friend was a touchstone of sorts for me in that I believe it was her influence that led me along the path to the life I have now. We were once both simply music fans (albeit fairly passionate music fans) with regular day jobs, regular goals... and then at different (yet sort of overlapping) times we dipped our pens into that world a bit more - so to speak. She started it, and made me aware it could be done.

And for that I must thank her. Because I like where that has taken me and I appreciate the role she played in it.

I hope to see you soon my friend - maybe we'll get to dance together again.
