planned spontanaeity

Once upon a time there was this girl who would spontaneously hit the road and travel to other cities, sometimes hours away, in search of a good live show. I have this overwhelming urge to be that girl again. But is a road trip still spontaneous if you plan it a week in advance? (Also my current sad lack of car makes this unlikely... although a bus road trip would be interesting.)
