Through their eyes

Even the broken shells are interesting. Chubby hands keep bringing them to me, then little legs run away again to find more. A rock! A bit of sea weed (shaped like a hand - they call that one dead man's fingers)! A piece of glass rolled endlessly by the tide - it's round!

Look! A seagull! A crow! Seals!

Pouring water out of yellow rubber boots so they don't weigh them down. Clumsy running in the loose rocks and sand of the beach - tripping, falling down. They bounce - up and running again.

Climbing on rocks. One of the little ones tumbles - head over feet over head... Tears. Wow that had to hurt. Only moments, then up and climbing again.

Look! More shells here in this algae pool! A crab! Look at this green rock! Let's go explore that cave!

Skipping stones. The little ones just throw, eager for the splashing; older brother skips the flat ones.

Let's race back to the fire!

Marshmallows!!
