suddenly summer

And there it is looming on the horizon. The heat of the sun brings forth all sorts of anticipation. The desire for a disc golf afternoon with friends. The urge for a fire in L.'s backyard with everyone gathered, smiling and laughing through the smoke. Thoughts of random road trips to nowhere and everywhere. The total excitement as the line-ups for our various festivals are announced, or only hinted at. The smile that came to my lips as I walked to the bar last night with the sun still slipping down the horizon. I love this time of year; the time when I say "I can't wait" too many times to count when I really don't want to wish it away at all but to savour every single moment of the season.

To lounge my way through all of it.
