So I went to see this band last night (something I do from time to time). As always with this particular band, it was a fine and fun-filled time but it got me thinking.... How does it feel to have a room full of people singing your songs back to you? Or even thousands of people? To have all those voices lifted up in a song you created, affirming the impact you've had on them. This line of thought lead me inevitably back to thoughts of art and immortality and wordly contributions. Singers and musicians leave their songs behind for the world to sing; painters, writers, sculpters and film makers etc. etc. leave tangible pieces of themselves for the world. But for those of us with more limitted art (I say it that way because I think everyone creates in some way - no one is an art-free zone) - how do we leave something behind?

And this, in turn, made me wonder about blogging. Is it another way to leave little footprints? To say "I was here"?
